Celebrating 85 Premier Years

For 85 years, the Alpha Kappa Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. has stood as a beacon of leadership, service, and brotherhood in the Petersburg community. Chartered on May 15, 1940, by CA Robbins, Charles Womble, John E. Mason, JA Cotton, Frank T. Green, William T. Green, Paul J. Singleton, George Owens Jr., and Donald C. Wingo, this chapter has unwaveringly dedicated itself to the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service, making a profound impact across generations. 

Honoring a Legacy of Brotherhood

From its inception, Alpha Kappa Sigma has been home to men committed to the ideals set forth by our founders: A. Langston Taylor, Leonard F. Morse, and Charles I. Brown. Through mentorship, fellowship, and an enduring commitment to unity, the chapter has fostered a spirit of brotherhood that has strengthened our fraternity and the communities we serve.

Scholarship: Uplifting Through Education

Education has always been a cornerstone of Phi Beta Sigma’s mission, and Alpha Kappa Sigma has continuously upheld this pillar through scholarship programs, mentorship initiatives, and community partnerships.
